Young People to Benefit from New Initiative
CHARNWOOD
TRIATHLON CLUB
ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME 2008
Charnwood
Triathlon Club, in association with Chappell’s Fine Foods, is delighted
to announce an innovative, new opportunity to encourage and support
young people into the UK’s fastest growing sport of triathlon.
The
Club has secured sponsorship from local company, Chappell’s Fine Foods,
to support two novices between the ages of 16 – 24 years to complete a
triathlon event during the 2008 season.
The Charnwood Triathlon
Club Athlete Scholarship is intended to provide support and
encouragement to a complete novice to the sport. The support will
include many of the costs associated with an athlete’s first race
including six weeks of personalised coaching leading up to the event,
contribution to some equipment costs, individual mentoring and payment
of event entry fees.
In return, we request that the athlete
provides us with regular feedback on progress and commits to completing
the event, competing for Charnwood Triathlon Club. The aim is that this
introduction will hopefully encourage the athletes to commit to
regularly compete in Triathlon!
To be eligible for the scholarship, the athlete must:
- Be a complete novice
to triathlon – i.e. has never taken part in a triathlon event before
- Be between the ages
of 16 to 24 years old based on age on 31/12/2008
- Be able to regularly
access Club training sessions
- Become a member of
Charnwood Triathlon Club
