Club News 26/03/2008 - It's Five at the WorldsTwo
further Club members have had their places confirmed at this June's
2008 Triathlon Age Group World Championships in
Vancover, Canada. This brings the overall number of Charnwood
Triathletes at the event to five. Darren Jones has been confirmed
as qualifying for the Olympic Distance race and Trish McPherson has
qualified for the Sprint Distance. Our congratulations go to both of
them. The full line up of Charnwood Triathletes at the event is as follows: 10/03/2008 - Three for World ChampionshipsWe
are proud to be able to confirm that we will have three athletes at the
2008 Triathlon Age Group World Championships which will be held in
Vancover, Canada in June. Our three qualifiers are Mark Townsend
(Olympic), Julia Blewitt-Jenkins (Sprint) and Carolyn Osbourne
(Sprint). All three have had to qualify for the event as one of
the top finishers in their age group in the qualifying races. Our congratulations go to all three and we hope to bring you news on their preparations over the nex few weeks. 09/03/2008 - Fun at The Beacon. Beer & Skittles Report.Last
night's Beer and Skittles evening at The Beacon in Loughborough was
well attended and enjoyed by all who attended (even Wendy).
Lovely food and a clear example of why we all do Triathlon and
not hand eye coordination based sports! Thanks to Wendy for
organising it all and Evie for scoring. Lovely food and great
company. A good start to the 2008 season. Pictures to

are delighted to be able to announce that we have secured a
sponsorship package from Chappel's Fine Foods, home of the award
winning Forryans Melton Mowbray Pork Pie,
which will allow us to offer two scholarships to athletes aged between

pleased to be able to announce that we have been awarded a grant of
£300 by North West Leicestershire District Council to allow us to
run two taster sessions to help introduce people in the District to
Triathlon. These sessions will be held during the earlier part of
the 2008 season at Hood Park Leisure Centre in Ashby-de-la-Zouch and
Ibstock Community College.

and Ibstock will be the last until the new year. Sessions will
re-start in early January. The first new session at Ibstock has been
confirmed as 8th January and it is likely that the first session at
Quorn will be Thursday 3rd January but this is subject ti confirmation. This
Thursday's session at Quorn will be a bit more fun than usual in
typical swim session tradition so why not come down for a more relaxed

- New Sessions at Ibstock & AshbyA reminder
that the new swim and bike sessions that the Club now runs at Ibstock
Community College on a Tuesday Evening (Swim) and Hood Park Leisure
Centre in Ahby-de-la-Zouch on a Sunday Morning (Bike).
These
sessions are open to all members and any potential new members.

- AGM & Awards EveningThe the first
official AGM and Club Awards evening was held on 17th November
2007.

Redesign UpdateThe
new design for the CTC website has now been completed and work has
started on migrating to the new design and adding our new features.
The planned launch date is 10th December 2007.

- Charnwood - BTF Club of the Year 2007 Charnwood
Triathlon Club are delighted to be able to announce that we were today
awarded the British Trialthlon Federation Club of the Year for 2007.
A fantastic result for a new club and congratulations go to
all
committee and club members on this achievement.

- Regional Club of the Year 2007At
the East Midlands Region awards today, Charnwood Triathlon Club were
awarded East Midlands Club of the Year for their achievements over the
past year in setting up and expanding the Club. This included
obtaining the StarMARK, running two events and setting up four regular
training sessions.
We will now be put forward to the
National BTF Awards as the East Midlands representitive.04/08/07 - News Updates
News updates will be limited for the next couple of weeks due to
Committee holidays. We will aim to create a full catch up by
the

- Trentham Events - Sprint & Big Half John
Hartshon competed in the Big Half and managed to finish in an
impressive 7hrs 5 minutes. Well done John. Anna
Bocklehurst and Paul Jarvis competed in the Sprint event with Anna
winning her age group race and "a ton of Gatorade". Results

number of members completed the Beaver events and we
will bring you the details as soon as the final results are published
by Just Racing. Meanwhile, Jonathon Riall managed an
excellent

Champion
Congratulations to Mark Couldwell who became National Age Group
Champion at last weekend's Championship which was the Wakefield

09/07/07 - New Loughborough Swim Venue Charnwood
Traithlon Club is pleased to announce
that we
we have re-located our swim session on a Tuesday and Thursday morning
to Rawlins College in
Quorn.
These facilities will be exclusively for the use of the Club
during the session which will allow us to have additional lanes and
focus sessions on a wider range of abilities that the current sessions
allow. The timing of and fees for the sessions will remain
unchanged. Fees will be paid to the club to cover the hire of
the

01/07/07 - What a Weekend! Lots of rain,
three events and some more good
results
for Charnwood Triathlon Club competitors. This rather damp
weekend saw Charnwood Traithletes competing in East Leake Triathlon,
Terrapin Triathlon and Prestwold Hall 10k. Find out

17/06/07 - Mansfield Sprint
Despite the storms this week, the Mansfield Sprint Triathlon was held
in near perfect Triathlon conditions (warm, dry and cloudy)
allowing five members to race unhindered! Great results for

- Charnwood Aquathon Results Congratulations to
Josh Daniels (Youth &
Overall), James Rushton (Adult Male) and Becky Krych (Adult Female) for
winning their respective races. Congratulations also go to all
competitors for completing the race and contributing to an excellent
