Triathlon
Experience:
I have been involved with Triathlon
now for 10 years, but still like to call myself a ‘recreational’
triathlete! I compete fairly regularly over various distances from
sprint to half-ironman, but also enjoy other physical challenges such
as ultra-marathons and mountain climbs!

Championships. I have coached for the past seven years and am currently
taking my Level 3 Triathlon Coaching Qualification.

Triathlon
Experience:
I
enjoy the training more than racing but when brave enough do enter both
sprint and olymic events. My time on the bike (or lack of
time on
it as I tend to be known for!!!) means I often lean towards running
events and have previous completed both the London and Paris Marathons.

Triathlon
Experience:
I see myself as the club's top supporter, as I don’t
participate, and have no immediate wishes to do so! I am
Jonathon’s partner and have traveled the country to support
him, and in 2005 we traveled together to Hawaii, where I supported him
in his first World Championship Race.
I have also marshalled at local childrens races in the East Midlands
and recently at our first club event, the Charnwood Aquathlon

Triathlon
Experience:
Having retired from competitive swimming about eight years ago I had a
go
at my first triathlon back in 2004. I have since taken part in a number
of local triathlons and although it goes rapidly downhill for me once I
get out of the swimming pool I love the social side of triathlon of
training with my club mates and for three different disciplines.

Triathlon
Experience:
I found the sport of triathlon by accident, having been a rugby player
for many years. As that started to decline I started running a lot and
cycling recreationally, then by meeting my other half (Wendy) who got
me swimming (I say swimming…more like drowning!), so it all
went
from there. I take part in a few events each year, I usually finish,
never win, but have a really good laugh doing it all!

Triathlon
Experience:
Short
attention span and boredom with running took me to my first tri in
1998. A lack of confidence limited my races but I do enjoy Olympic
distance rather than short. I'm not very fast but love the camaraderie
of training and racing, and the fitness it gives me for running around
after two young children (two when the youngest realises the value of
walking!)

Triathlon
Experience:
I
have been involved with Triathlon since September 2007 and have already
fallen for it's charms. I came into Triathlon from a cycling back
ground but I find the diversity of the running and swimming a real
incentive to keep coming back.

Triathlon
Experience:
After having found Triathlon
due to an injury ("why don't you bike and swim while you
recover?" said the Physio)
I'm thoroughly hooked. Enjoyed my first season in 2007 getting through
eight events and looking forward to improving and going longer in 2008.
I'm really
enjoy the variety of
training for the three different elements and the support I get from
the other members of the club.
